saw something on reddit that results for optometry hpsp for navy came out 2 days ago - hopefully today is the day

Just got a call from my Navy recruiter- accepted! He said they had 319 applicants this year, which is quite a few and may explain their slower response

Do we get BAH bc the area my dental school is in is pretty expensive considering various living arrangements

I am applying to dental school, class of 2030. Currently in Army National Guard, was ROTC in college. How competitive is it to get Army scholarship for dental school. My chances of even getting into dental school are slim. Do I need to start applying for Army Scholarship now?

hey so i can only speak from my experience, but if your chances of getting into dental school are slim then chances are it will be harder to get the scholarship. i applied navy and got in with no prior service experience or contacts in the navy, but i felt that the process was largely based on stats (GPA, DAT score) and leadership (concrete examples and positions of leadership). you can't even get accepted into the program until you have a dental school acceptance as well. never hurts to apply tho!

Those doing the navy HPSP- have any of you received your commissioning papers yet? I’m worried mine won’t come in time
