Dentist Voulunteering?

Okay, so I'm still at my CC planning to transfer to a 4 year soon. During this time, I would like to get the volunteering requirement over with as I have wayy to much time on my hands. My question is, what would be the best way to try and get some volunteer work? Would you just walk in and ask a dentist? Or call them up? Might sound like a strange question, but I just want to be on the safe side.

Look up dentists in your area and call them up. Usually a receptionist will pick up the phone and answer your questions and set you up for a shadowing position. Be persistent, doctors love that.
