this is probably on the wrong board but oh well i only visit this board... does any one here know how applying to dental school differs from pharmacy school? what is on their admissions test?? how does the money made differ between the two and the need?? how easy is it to get into pharmacy school compared to dental? how long is pharmacy school?

i have a strong GPA and am not worried about not being accepted into dental school... just having slight second thoughts... help please?? thanks

PCAT is supposed to be easier (from what I've been told) and doesn't require as much studying as the DAT (due to the patterns section - it's hard to be a 'natural' in that without practicing). Also, I believe there's more pharmacy schools than dental schools and the class sizes are much larger. Therefore, by using that logic, you have a better chance of getting into pharmacy school than dental school. However, it comes down to what you're more interested in and capable of handling...I can't comment on curriculum or career differences of both professions...I guess, that's probably something you can investigate by working and shadowing...

I am not 100% sure about this information, but I think pharmacy schools require a HUGE GPA. I mean some pharmacy schools in michigan have average GPA of thier enterence class 3.8 or something crazy. I was told by a pre-pharm student in my biology class that if you have a 3.5 or 3.6, you are considered "below the average" lol

the school that i go to is a pharmacy school. I have taken the pcat and the question difficulty is definitely not as hard as the DAT, but the test is much faster than the DAT. For example the chemistry portion is combined gchem and orgo, the section has 50 questions with 30 minutes to do. So you have to be on top of your game b/c if you get stuck you can get behind quick. On the flip side they are very easy questions except for math and i think verbal reasoning was tough. DOnt know about what gpa you need, but it seems to be just like any other program good student + dedication to pharmacy+no weird vibes in interview and you are in. I have taken 3 of the pharmacy electives and they were good courses, but overall i believe that the pharmacy curriculum is significantly easier that Dental.
