Hello.........i Have been Accepted to UNLV & NOVA😀 i'm not sure which one to pick.....i was wondering whether it is LEGALL to make deposit in two schools at the same time???😉

It is very legal and I will for sure do that very thing while I make a final decision.

Especially where the deposit is a mere 500 bones 🙂

its definitely legal and im sure most schools want you to do it. i wouldnt say the same for the students who want to go to the school that you might turn down.

It might be legal, but I don't understand why you would. Why don't you just make your decision and save your self at least $500. You can think of it as wasting $500 by being indecisive. On the other hand I can totally understand If you pay a deposit at one school, then later get accepted to another that is your top choice and choose to back out of the origional and eat your deposit.

good luck.

I agree with Turnerjo13! Your decision is not going to get any easier. You have been to the schools, talked to the students, asked your questions, analyzed the pros and cons, and now with all of that info it is time to decide! If you are waiting to hear more about "the word on the street" about each school, if you dig you will find more praise and more negative about each school. By holding multiple spots you are taking opportunity away from other applicants and wasting your own money! Do everyone a favor and decide before you place your deposit.

By the way, I know this decision is difficult, I am fortunate enough to have 5 schools to choose from (2 of which are my top two choices). But c'mon guys, we can do it. I know I will and use that extra $500 for a flight to Hawaii!

I have to add, if In Her Drawer can do it, so can the rest of us. Talk about a "splitting hairs" decision!

this is an interesting question, one that i've been wondering too. so if you get into a school dec 1st and put down the deposit, and then get into your number 1 lets say...a few months later (way past the 45 days), you can still withdraw your acceptance (and lose your deposit) from the dec. 1st school to accept the admission offer from your number 1 school?

sorry nickole, didn't mean to butt in, but i've been meaning to ask this for a while now.

Thats right you can save your spot with a deposit and still withdraw for another school. The school with keep your money but give you back your freedom.

To the OP, you applied to AADSAS didn't you? Well when you go to that screen where you type in your username to check your AADSAS status, before you sign in...maybe you should look to the left at that green bar that has the link titled "Offers of Admission." If you read it clearly outlines the new policy in effect for this year where applicants who are holding multiple spots up to May 1st will risk losing their acceptance at all schools. On May 1st, any school you are holding a spot at will let AADSAS know this information and this information will be made available to all schools. If schools find out you are holding multiple spots by this date, a school has the option to rescind your offer of admission or they will contact you with a 15 day notice to make up your mind. If you're holding multiple spots that late in the game, you're very incosiderate of other applicants who could have had that spot. I hope no one does this as it would be unfair to others. Anyways, here's the OFFICIAL link for this info. Hope it clears up the question. Peace.

P.S. look at section F on page 2 regarding this topic.

yup, you can reserve more than one spot if you're undecided. that's what a deposit is for in the first place, they just haven't raised it high enough to prevent people from taking advantage of the system. well except BU... $3k is a bit steep.

in may the schools share information on who's accepted offers, then they'll ask you to make up your mind in a week.

Correction, 15 days. That is if they decide not to withdraw your offer of admission.

Am i the only one who thinks 45 days is more than enough time to decide??
Not doing so and placing 2 or more deposits is unfair to those waiting for seats in either of those 2 schools....

if you haven't heard from your number one school, make the deposit to ONE of the schools. OP, if i had to choose, i'd choose Nova. after thinking about it for 45 days, i think you'll make the right decision. stick to one and save yourself $500.

I agree. The decision isn't going to get easier, it will probably only get harder, because the schools/interviews won't be as fresh in your mind.

i doubt many people will put down a deposit for more than one school, even if it just to hold their spot. if you're waiting for your number 1, chances are the schools you've gotten into aren't exactly tied for number 2...you're gonna pick one and then wait for number 1 to hopefully offer you admission.

I agree, making two deposits at the same time is ridiculous and if you want to waste money then go for it. You should be able to decide between 2 different schools in 45 days.

quick question. i got accepted to two schools that i havent quite decided between. i leave the country in a couple days and dont come back until after the deadline for deposits has passed, so i am turning in two deposits and will decide while im gone. the website suggests that schools wont share this information before may, so am i okay if i hold on to two until the beginning of february?

whoa??
what schools are you guys applying to because Temple asked for a $750 deposit by JAn 15 and an additional $750 by April.

NYU is asking for $1500 by Jan 15..

Those are heavy numbers to just throw away. The thing is if you don't know which school you want to go to by now... you wont know 6 motnhs from now either. Go visit the school again and make your choice unless youre really rich. In that case... Deposit away.. and um.... give me some money so I can hold two spots until I can decide ....

It is legal but schools DON'T want you to do it. The longer you hold onto one of their spots, the more qualified applicants they miss out on. Unless you have a really good reason (like leaving the country), take pity on the poor soul who is waiting for your spot. It would suck to get an acceptance in June just because someone was indecisive 😳
