I got my acceptance letter yesterday from Wayne that was mailed on Jan 27th, I live in Michigan so I'm sure if you applied you should be hearing something soon.

I've been on the "alternate" list since the November call-in date and am trying like hell to parlay that into an acceptance. I REALLY liked Wayne St.
I'm sending an update in, so if I were either being rejected or accepted I would want to know before I sent in the materials. Thanks.

The main one is based on instinct generated from my visit when I interviewed.

The concrete reasons are its stellar reputation for graduating great clinicians. I've heard nothing but good things about the residents produced by WSU SOM. This has been from all "levels" of the medical profession: a vice-provost/professor from UIC Med, the head of pediatric infectious diseases at Rush, a fourth-year at N'Western, a first-year fellow at Rush, etc. (I'm in Chicago, obviously). I don't completely understand the Wayne-bashing, but they make no bones about being a clinically-oriented school (as opposed to very research-intensive).

The Karrmanos Cancer Institute is a BIG draw to me, as I am currently in pre-clinical cancer research (preventatives and therapeutics).

I liked the students and faculty that I interacted with, and their curriculum looks like it would be a great fit.

But like I said, I just got the feeling that it all fit.

Soleil, I called on Wednesday. I'm still on the Alternate List. There has been Alternate List movement, I think, but I can't remember who it was on the forum that got in after being on the list.

I also am on the waitlist at Wayne State. I didnt call this month to see if I got pulled off, I figure I would rather just wait and be surprised by a letter in the mail than to call and here the same bad news over again

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say that they haven't forgotten about the waitlist folks because yesterday I got a packet from wayne saying I was accepted!!! I should've called on wednesday, but I didn't think things whould be movng so quickly, since I've only been waitlisted for a month... I was seriously expecting to be waiting till July! Anyway, good news...

Where are you guys going to live next year? I was actually thinking of living in the new dorms for various reasons...

congrats soleil - I see you went to "K" - are you from Kalamazoo originally too? I am so just curious...I'll find out about wayne in a few weeks so keeping my fingers crossed! 🙂
