did some one get an interview call in any school with a score of 85-89 in nbde 1..please let us know.

Not me. I have 89/79. Toefl 100. Rejection from all the schools up to this time. I am retaking te exam i guess. I have started reading all over again. But dont have that much courage now. I am scared of the exam now as it's new format. Anyways, If anybody is in te same boat like mine, let's prepare together.

89 is a good score and I think it would be hard to improve with the new format...... I think you will get an interview soon in any of the other schools.
Don't loose hope yet....

hey is it so tht a score with 89 is nt gud enuf, coz i hv 89 n stil hvn't heard frm any of the skools tht i'd applied to, n the fact is tht i had applied late.
It'l b too much to sit for part 1 all ovr again

you mean it's hard to retake the exam ? I know it's frustrating and boring to retake. I am more concerned aobut the chances of applying this year. If i get good score more than 90, What are my chances to get a call fron Boston ? Because if i would retake i would apply close to the deadline. My Teofl score is also 99. I dont know whether they consider just 1 point less than the required score?

Dont get disheartened.let mestart with UOP.Ifyou look at therejection thread you can see that manystudents have 90 yet did not get calls.They look at the over all application like workexperience.Now coming to schools like Boston i know its tough ,guyswith 89 are on the border line but others you guys you know they prefer 90 above the primary crieteria.and schools likecolumbia they just have 4 seats and more that 80 studentsapplying with 90above. Nowlets take NYU ,they waitlisted lot of students with 90 last year.soall i have to say is rejection is a part of selection process.SODont lose hope and have courage, you willget your chance.

hey guys stay positive.one f my friends has 87/79 and he got admission in New jersy last yr.And also i met one Girl whu had 80/79 and shez in the final yr f pass prog in colorado.this yr one f the guys whu were interviewd at UMN had 88 in part 1.So if u have a score above 86 u stand a very good chance of getting admssion.Jus wait for a while.I hope it helps

I am sorry but the program for international dentist in new jersey started this year on july so I doubt he got admission last year.

Last admission cycle was only a couple of weeks in spring 2007. The accepted candidates began their pre-enrollment session in June 2007...first hand info!

New jersey had program last year but they didnt put anything on website. Thats what they told in March this year.

Well what i nw is new format 89 is gud bt old one cant say , i have lots of frns taking exam this yr , no body able to cross 89 , its sort of difficult now touching 90 is best u can do , As time elapses and those who got 90's last yr get admitted then it will be new pattern candidates left in the hunt and u will get through w 89 . Next cycle is definitely going to be all new pattern takers.I guess all schools w deadline of application in august next yr will have all new pattern exam takers applying .N if lucky maybe our time starts w NYU applications.

One thing I have learned in this process is that these programms are for international diversification & maximum no are Indians. A person who is a national of a country from where the no of foreign dentist is less might get accepted with the lower scores.

I'm fairly new to all this and I'm planning on taking part 1 in Feb - can anyone tell me what the difference between the new and the old format is? Where should I study from for the new one? I have the 2006-2007 dental decks, are they good?
And also should I do past papers from the '80s -> 2000 or are they substantially different from the new format?

UIC has accepted so far this year 3people (out of 8 that i know, and there are 16 more places to be filled)) with nbde1 from 85-89; so, good luck, that's hope for you!🙂

Hello All,

Please dont lose hope, I got interviewed from UIC, LLU and USC and I am accepted and going to UIC. I have part I 87, Part II 77 and TOEFL 99. I guess with UIC being a reapplicant helps. Starry is right, just hang in there.
I know how all of you feel, i have been in the same boat for about 2 yrs.

you should use the search option more😉; out of 8 known accepted at BU(am i correct guys?) only one has nbde of 89;

i also gave the bu interview. Do u have ne idea about the cut off percentile of the students which are selected in the BU till this time. What are the total seats for the advanced standing students.
