Hey everyone....

Just wanted to post this since it's all over social media.

To celebrate the 300th episode of Greys Anatomy the show is partnering with Good Morning America to do a segment that will highlight those that have gone into medicine as a direct result of watching Grey's Anatomy. If that's you or you know of someone that fits this bill, please submit your story directly to: greysinspired@gmail. From there, Good Morning America will reach out and contact you to hear your story.

Show was mildly entertaining the first few seasons, then became absolute trash fast.

Never inspired me for medicine in general, but I will say it has made me want to consider surgery as a future possibility if my board scores agree

I watched first few minutes of the very first episode. Terrible

Even if I try to think of it as describing some parallel reality, the characters were just insufferable. All of them!

I've never seen an episode of Grey's.

I actually enjoyed the first few seasons while I was in high school. I remember trying to get into watching it again in college and it was so cringe I couldn't handle it. The drama!

It inspired me to get better hair gel - well specifically McDreamy sparked my hair product fascination!

I was always more of a St. Elsewhere fan, myself.

It's why I went in to neurosurgery..

Personal statement: "McDreamy's hair and swag on Grey's Anatomy inspired me to pursue medicine...I knew this was the right calling"

Wow so many haters. I love Grey's but am under no illusions that its an accurate portrayal of medicine. There were some hard to watch seasons but the past few have actually been pretty great. I don't think there's anything wrong with being inspired or having your interest in medicine sparked by a tv show. Not all of us have mommies and daddies who are doctors.

Dad is a lawyer who didn’t go to law school until his forties, and Mom never went to college. GA is terrible. Scrubs, OTOH...

None in my family are docs, in fact only one other person even graduated college. Still doesn't mean enjoying a glorified soap-opera is an actual inspiration to go into medicine. Maybe a sparked (and misguided) interest, but certainly not an inspiration.

No parents who are doctors. Grey's has been trash for many years now. Just overall low quality television.

ER set the seed in for me, but that's because I was a wide-eyed child who probably thought doctors were immortal or something.

It was the undergrad bio + clinical experience that made me realize "yes, this is for me" (also binged scrubs my freshman year so there's that).

A TV show did not inspire me to pursue medicine. Having an experience as a patient and the doctor who took care of me inspired me to go into medicine right before starting college.

I did start watching shows like "Resident Life," "The Residents," and "Trauma: life in the ER," if anyone remembers these shows in the early 2000s. These were documentary shows on TLC and Discovery Health that followed actual residents/attendings in different specialties and their patient's stories. They were more inspiring to me to study hard in college. Then later "Hopkins" and "Boston Med."

As an aside, I love Scrubs, ER, and GA, but purely for the drama (or comedy in Scrubs).

I knew a few people who's first exposure to medicine was thru watching Greys Anatomy.

I think Married to Medicine convinced me 😉
