Did poorly in 2 credit class

I did poorly in a 2 credit online pharmacy class. I got a D+, this is my first year at a university--im a sophomore and a transfer. I took the class as a filler--I should've taken pass/fail. I can retake again and get an A and my college will only use the A to calculate my gpa. How will med schools view this?

If you retake, MD schools will average the D+ and the new grade together, and DO schools will replace the old grade with the retake grade.

I retook the course and I think my final grade will be a B+ or A-. Unfortunately, I couldn't get that A. This will be the last of online classes for me though. So the D+ and B+ averaged is like a C?

When you enter the grades in the application you need to input both so,

D+ = 1.3, B+ = 3.3

1.3 + 3.3 = 4.6/2 = 2.3 GPA for the 2 classes, which is a C+
