Did you get into your number one choice?

If so, what was it and why?

True!

PCOM

Chances to match at a residency offered by PCOM graduate education - same place where my mentor trained. 👍

Yep!

DMU. It didn't start out at the top of my list, but shot right to the top after my interviews. New facilities, awesome staff, 2nd oldest D.O. school, Des Moines is a great town, etc. etc. etc...

KCOM was my first choice. I was accepted there as well. However, DMU blew me away.

Yes, DMU.

I didn't really have a top choice before applying, the doctors I shadowed came from PCOM and Jefferson. After a few interviews, I didn't feel at home. As soon as I arrived at DMU, however, I fell in love with the place. I just felt "at home". As soon as I left I knew that was the school for me.

Definitely! I got into medical school - period. 🙂 That was my number one choice! I'm of the opinion that no matter where you go, it's what you make of it. I'm thrilled just to be going somewhere this year 😀

Where carnal?

yea!! NSUCOM was tied for my top 3 choices...along with CCOM, UMDNJ...But after interviewing I just felt at home..even though im from TX hehe..what surprised me was the amazing clinical rotation sites they offered...That along with a beautiful campus and a good location (Ft. lauderdale)...and I knew i would be happy if i was accepted...

Good luck everyone in getting into their top couple of choices...Med school is an investment..And if you are not happy going into med school (get into a school you dont want to go to) then you will be more than likely have a harder time to learn thus detrimenting your future career and thus blowing away your investment

I'm deciding between LECOM-Erie and PCOM-GA right now, although I think I'll probably end up at LECOM-Erie. I really liked both programs.

YEP YEP. PCOM all the way. I chose the school because two Physicians I shadowed went there, great staff and faculty, location, and one of my very good friends was also accepted to c/o 2010.

YES, DMU.
Great history, facilities and just a good feeling while I was there.

Yep, TUCOM-NV. My family just moved there, Roger is great and as soon as I saw it I fell in love with it and Henderson. It feels so great to go where you want to.

Before my interview at NYCOM it was between NYCOM and PCOM. Only applied to 4 schools (NYCOM, NECOM, OU-COM, PCOM). Got into NYCOM and withdrew my applications everywhere else.

👍

definitely!!...NSUCOM for it's rotation sites, facilities (new recreational building & hospital in the works), location/weather, and overall great feeling at the school! 👍

Yes -- UNECOM -- for its great academic program, good developing research capabilities (and new biomedical facility, 2007), its inception of a joint DO/PhD program with U Maine, faculty (many of which I know from spending last summer there as a research fellow) are excellent, facilities are great, blah blah blah. I could go on, but I also have a day job...

...and, oh ya, location, location, location! Maine, especially the coastline, is beautiful...nice place to spend medical school. Very proud to be admitted and can't wait to start there...6 months away 😱 !!

I am glad everyone is getting their first choice. Mine is UMDNJ. Great residency placement, low tuition, small class size, next to big city, #1 in research, awesome board pass rates, hospital on campus, and more 🙂
