I posted this in general residency but need some EM advice. I did not match to EM this year. I am a DO student and applied to ACGME programs. This was a weird year and almost no scramble spots.
I have gotten over the fact that I did not match and accepted a DO transitional year. How in the heck do I get back to EM next year?
I have a feeling this TY will be worth little or nothing when I apply next year and figure I will be doing most of the year over. I really like two programs (that I did not match too and would like to try again) - I plan on contacting the programs and politely inquiring what would make me a better candidate next year.
I would appreciate any advice since I refuse to give up on EM.
