Not trying to humblebrag, just wondering if I should apply to a few more competitive schools. I got II's to my two top choice schools by early September (Georgetown and Brown), despite middle of the road stats. I think it was my EC's and PS that may have caused Brown to take a second look.

Here's a rundown of my stats: 3.52s/3.65a/33R, graduated as an Anthro major from NYU. Took a couple years off to work in Haiti, work at the NYC Dept of Health, and work in an HIV clinic at Downstate. All of these experiences have been great material to work with on secondaries.

Do you all think it's too late to submit to a few more competitive schools, or did I just luck out with the first 2 II's?

Also, at this point my wallet is really light and I don't feel like throwing $200 away for no good reason.

I'm pretty sure adding more reach schools around this time will lower your chances of getting admitted there (since they already received many applications) and probably a waste of money. You could add more safety schools if you want to increase your chance of acceptance.

If you're interviewing at your top choices, why would you apply to more schools? Sounds like you're playing a game of "what if...," which isn't something you want to play in medical admissions if you want to keep your sanity.

I wouldn't mess around with more applications. It's just a waste of money.

"One can never have enough reach schools," said Bill Gates' kid.

Applying for reach schools is just like trying to play the lottery, if you have the time/money and want to go for it, maybe it'll pay off. It's honestly such a crap shoot that no one will be able to tell you whether or not an interview is guaranteed.
