Hey all, sorry but I don't feel like searching through all the MCAT forums anymore to find these specific answers....so pre-allo will hopefully come to the rescue.

Anyways, I took the written MCAT years ago, and a friend of mine is asking me advice for the CBT test. I have no clue what advice from the written one still applies now, so I have no clue what to tell her. I haven't looked at anything remotely connected to the MCAT in over 2 years. Feel free to simply point me to any good resources if you don't feel like recalling your experiences to answer, thanks.

1. Content - Is the content pretty much the same? What are some major content changes/removal in the CBT test? (for example, I remember the previous MCAT revision in 2005 removed o-chem content like benzenes and alkynes, etc).

2. I know the overall test day is shorter. Is this because each section is shorter (less questions)? Or just less test proctor nonsense...

3. Of all the review books out there, which one would you recommend most for the CBT?

4. Lastly, are the AAMC practice computer tests pretty representative of the real one?

Thanks all👍

1. Content is identical, as far as I'maware.
2. Both.
3. I hear Examkrackers is the best comprehensive review guide, but I have no idea. I used the Flowers (Princeton Review) guide that everyone seems to think is a piece of crap and pulled out a 35.
4. I only took 1 practice test- the free one - but I found its difficulty to be about the same as the real MCAT.

Great, thanks. Examkrackers got me a great score with the written one, so I'll probably recommend that one.
