Guys,

On the Practice NBMEs, it says scores are scaled to ahve a mean of 500, and the correlates to a 219 3-digit score, which is around the mean that I have heard of for Step 1.

On Medfriends, when you put in 500, you get a score of 224. Is medriends OVERestimating your scores? What are you guys using as the gauge to how well you're doing on the test, the scale given on the practice NBME or the Medfriends calculator?

Use the NBME scale. After all, they made the test and they created the grading. Medfriends gathered their data by having people submit their NBME scores(started back when there were only 2 forms) and their actual scores. This was before the NBME included the score conversion. People, on average, saw an increase in their score from the NBME they took to the actual exam. Which is expected, if you're studying.
