difference between the newest 2013 edition and 2012 of dr collins

If I buy a used 2012 edition, will it be that much different from the new 2013 edition? The older one's cheaper but I wanna know if there's enough difference to spend extra money on the new one

also, how would you tell what edition/year the study guide you're getting is, if you buy used? I just wanna make sure the person selling it to me isn't lying and selling me an older version

I bought mine used and it worked fine. I'm pretty sure it was the 2011 edition, because I had all the 2012 updates. If you just look over the pcat topics (on the website) covered you'll know what you needa study if it's in your study set or if they threw it out like plants for bio..

I don't think you have to buy the most recent edition, I bought 2012 edition and I was fine with it.
