Hi everyone,
Just wondering if you guys plan on using the same personal statement for PM&R for prelim/ transitional application? I would hate to have to write another essay, but thought is might be inappropriate to use the PM&S PS. How about just add few paragraphs at the end of the original PS? Any thoughts? Thanks!!!

Only if you want. But keep in mind some prelims and transitional years are competitive because of ophtho, derm, rad-onc, etc you are competing against so a tailored statement might put you over the top.

i modified my personal statement a few paragraphs to emphasize that I was interested in obtaining a strong foundation in IM. Most rad/derm/optho applicants will have great scores, but often pd's see through their luke-warm interest in inpatient medicine. agree this could only help you if you take the time to do this, but it's up to you, after 4 years med-school what's a few paragraph modifications 🙄
