I received a call the other day from a patient stating that she threw up after taking the antibiotic I prescribed her for her sinusitis that has been going on for the past 2 months....she stated that she threw up because of the clavalunic acid in the augmentin... 🙄

Um, it's not "clavalunic", it's "clavulanic" acid.

Nausea and vomiting are among the most common AE's experienced with Augmentin. Perhaps this patient has taken amoxicillin uneventfully in the past, and thus blames this adverse event of vomiting on the component which is new to her. Why is that "difficult"?

just give her biaxin and be done with it.
