I've almost done with EK Chem 1001, and have already finished Physics 1001. I've found that while I understood almost everything in PS conceptually and had memorized all of the formulas, I often got stuck when met with a novel situation. It seems like critical thinking is a major part of this exam and I seem to be having a hard time applying what I know. I'm sure if I sit down for long enough and try to tackle a problem I'll eventually have an epiphany, but given that this is a timed exam, this is worthless.

Any advice?

I think it would help if you do more practice problems. You will eventually get used to MCAT style questions and passages.

sounds like you just need to practice. Know your material inside and out. One thing that helps me really apply these concepts to those in passages, is really understanding how these concepts work in real life around me and how they connect with each other.
