Hi guys,

I'm a 3.7/506 applicant with decent extracurriculars. I'm applying to many DO schools out of Texas. I'm applying to Texas schools as well. Do Texas applicants have a hard time getting accepted out of state? My plan was to apply to many OOS DO schools, but after hearing most schools don't like accepting Texas applicants, I'm getting worried of my chances of acceptance. I don't think I'm competitive enough for Texas schools and now i heard OOS schools don't like Texas applicants so this has me concerned for my chances.

Texas resident here. I had a slightly lower GPA than you and did with pretty well with the OOS DO schools. State schools like MSU may have IS preference, but the rest of them are pretty impartial. Love imparting my own experiences so feel free to PM me if you have questions, lol. Good luck with your cycle!
