what volume of 18.0 M HCl will you add if you want to prepare 300 mL of 6.0 M of HCl? 😕

thank you!!

hmm... i was thinking of adding 75 ml of 18.0 M HCl and 225 ml of water to prepare for 300 ml of 6.00 M HCl...😕

Hey no, it doesn't work that way. This equation you will use the M1V1= M2V2...

just remember if it gives something like 1 M H2SO4, that you ned to change molarity to normality.

no you don't. only if they are asking you about a specific pH or how many moles of H+ are going to react with another species. given the context of the question, you can simply use the M1V1=M2V2 formula. no need to use normality this time.
