So, some of my classes were sub-par to say the least 🙁.
Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to handle addressing this issue during a residency interview? The rest of my CV is great (work experience, research, school involvement).

You mean if the interviewer brings it up?

Yes, exactly.....

Are there extenuating circumstances?

Or did you just over do the involvement part? (Not trying to be rude, I've just seen someone do that first hand)

They won't. If your grades were an issue / obstacle to being chosen, you would not have received an interview. At the interview, it is all about your ability to think on your feet, give a presentation, clinical knowledge (limited), and personality (huge part here).

grades matter before the interview but afterward, not so much.

I would be hesitant to be so dogmatic about it.

There's always the possibility of an interviewer asking, not because they care about the grades themselves, but to gauge the reaction and response.

OP, be honest during the interview, but continue to sell yourself - look at the trend of your grades, did you get your act together; what about your clinical rotations?

We can smell BS a mile away. Especially if you're downwind in a place like Davis. :meanie:

Don't bring it up unless they ask...which they probably won't.
