Disproportionate Number of Males in Podiatry?

Hey All,
I was just wondering, there seems to be a disproportionate number of males in podiatry than female. I called up local podiatrists to shadow and I could not find one female podiatrist. Is that how its always been or do you see a change in the future?

If you take a look at AACPM.org it shows that the # of female matriculants are increasing. There are still more males, but females are catching up.

It's similar to allopathic/osteopathic. A large portion of practicing docs are men but the entering class sizes are pretty much equal men/women (minus Azpod)
