Hey friends! Question for ya.

I have 20 credit hours of school left, and I have two semesters to take it in. Freshman year I took 12 credits both times. Sophomore I took 14 both semesters. Junior I took 14 both semesters. First semester of senior year (now) am in 16 credits. Theoretically I could take my next two semesters (and then have 8 months off) with only 10 credits each. However, I don't want to come across as lazy. Should I try to get to 14 credits for this up and coming semester and just take whatever I have left my last semester? (would be around 9 credits).

I'd like to take as little as possible next semester as well, since I am going to be studying for the DAT.

So my two options are..

Take 14 credits next semester (some of which would be filler, like psych 111) and study for the DAT, take 9 ish credits last semester.

Take 9 credits next semester, have a lot of time to study for DAT. Take 9 credits last semester.

Give me your opinion!

Thanks

You have a lot of options.

If you want to take additional classes, don't do it just because you don't want to look lazy. Do it to pull up your GPA, if needed. Do it to take an upper level course that will be applicable to dental school, such as histology. Or do it because you are only in undergrad once and there is a cool class that you want to take, maybe like psych 111. I took paleontology because I thought it would be cool and it was a 600 level Bio at my school.

If you don't take classes, volunteer and shadow a ton. Or see if you can help out with research at school, these are all good activities and you won't look lazy doing them.

Consider a part-time job that has some upside for dental school - tutoring or being a teaching assistant in a science class. I am sure there are other possibilities. Look good and make a little extra cash.

Or mix and match the suggestions above.

Good luck on the DAT.
