It was great to meet both of you! Like JP said, we are just an email away and while I'm still in town I have a phone 🙂 I should be in the stalker book or I can email it. You two will have a blast. Jane, I would make sure you have Prad on speed dial for anatomy 🙂

I had this long saga with getting my account re-activated because I changed my email on it today. But, it's been fixed, so I'm back!

it was awesome seeing you guys. i'm sorry i wasn't more active, but my mind was a little preoccupied with studying for cranial. i passed the test! woohoo! so, i am now going to be a complete bum for the rest of the summer. you guys can get in touch with me in the stalker if you want. well, if jane and prad are any indication of the incoming class, then it should be a blast. have fun, and let me know if you have any questions (although, i would take advantage of jp and katie while they are still around).

Hey there JP! Just wanted to let you know that Johnathan Levi Smith came into this world on 6/30/03 at 6:58 pm. Spent a little time in the NICU with some pneumonia but he's doing GREAT now and is ready to begin his quest of world domination. Say hi to the wife.

Oh that's right! It's the 4th of July weekend!! I lose track of time here, I swear. It feels like a Saturday every day...😛

Packing is pretty fun. You get to see all the junk you've accumulated, and finally get the chance to say goodbye... Err....or maybe that's just me 😀

No solid plans for me! You'll just be packing?
 
I guess I'll only have about 2 weeks to feel like a vacation and then after that it'll be all over for about ... say 4 years? 😉

Packing is pretty fun... although you're right about all that junk... who knew you could accumulate so much junk??? I really HAVE to say goodbye to most of it... I keep trying to remember why I kept it all in the first place!

I guess i'll be packing mostly.. and cleaning up ... might get together with some friends to say goodbye 🙁 always a sad part

so tell me is your family planning on visiting you anytime soon? i was hoping they would come to the white coat ceremony but it's just in such a weird time!
 
No, nobody's coming for the white coat ceremony. You're right, it is a weird time! My brother and his gf might come and visit sometime, but it's not definite.

Yeah, knowing you won't see your friends for like, half a year is pretty sad. Enjoy your time there! And then you can come and veg out the rest of your summer 😀

i'm hoping my cousin might come out and visit me!

I'm glad to hear that you're having such a good time in des moines, I guess anytime without work is a great time!! Don't worry about not one being in Iowa for the white coat ceremony, my family isn't coming either. All of us without family coming will have a blast together.

Enjoy your last week of work. I still have 3 more weeks. I can't believe it, my last day here is the 25th. I really wanted to make as much money as possible and then cash out my vacation. Plus I snuck in a couple of weeks last month to go to Iowa and Alaska to see my family.

Alright well i've gotta get back to work.
can't wait to get to iowa and meet everyone.

Haha! No way! First, I was set on a Camry, and then I decided on something smaller. So it came down to a Civic and a Corolla, and I think I'm going to go with the Toyota. I'm just waiting for my auto loan to go through, and then I'll go and knock the dealers dead (yeah right, but it's worth a shot 😀)

I hope the fireworks will be great tonight!

Sorry I haven't been on in a while, my parents have a slow-a$$ dialup connection, I think it's 900 baud or something. hehe. I'm dropping my brother off at Pitt, and he's got high speed, so I'm making quick use of it.

Beau, how's ragbrai training? it's coming up soon, isn't it? I'm definitely in for next year. I'm planning on trying to run the des moines hlaf marathon, depending on how much training time I have. I'll definitely start going on some rides with you when I get there, unless you're all ridden out.

Jane--good luck with car shopping. I'm thinking about leasing a toyota corolla. I've decided against the Xterra because gas would be too expensive to go on any fun road trips, and what's the point of having a car if you can't go on road trips?

JP- its funny that you should call him "mini-me." because he, frighteningly so, looks just like me. Julie keeps trying to find little physical features that look like her but its all me, head-to-toe. If you and Charmaine are waiting for a good time to start a family, just go for it... I have come to realize that there will never be a "good" time to start a family... you will always need more money and more time. At least for another ten years.
I am excited to start neurosurg tomorrow. The best part, scrubs only for the next three months!!!! No monkey suits (shirt and tie). I hope that everything is going well for you. When do you move to Ohio?

Bought the car today! Well, it's still at the dealer's. But it's mine!

I don't know if it's how people work here, or my "awesome haggling skillz"(yeah right...😉), but they gave me an unbelievable deal. This was me: :wow:

I would love to Jane, but I'm actually going to my parent's home that day. I'm slowly moving stuff out and cleaning my childhood bedroom. I'm going to be living at home for August and September. . . should be interesting 🙂 However, if you are still interested in one of the bookshelves, I should be clearing of them out this week. Have a good lunch, don't eat anything you can't identify 🙂

I'm pretty sure that you can keep your liscense and car registered in MI as long as you're a student. That's what I did at least when I was going to school in MN. Unless you want to register your car in Iowa. I can't believe that you're moving there in just 1 week! I'm like the outsider that won't be coming until right before school starts.

How is everyone else doing? How's live in Iowa??

You I am an incoming first year. I got the scoops that some 1st years at DMU have arrived. Anyhow, I want to know where everyone is hanging at. I checked some cool spots and was afraid I exhausted my resources.
