Does anyone on here that goes to DMU know anything about the dual degree program at DMU? Do a lot of students do it?(Masters of Health Care administration and Masters of Public Health) Im sure I will hear about it at my interview in a couple of weeks, but I was just curious. Do any of the other schools offer it? (So far my research shows that DMU seems to be the only school directly offering the DPM/MPH or DPM/MHA degree).😀

There are a few from each class but I always recommend getting through the 1st year before starting the dual degree. I personally do not see the advantage of a dual degree (even DPM/PhD). I think you do one degree at a time w/ all the effort you can muster. That is my personal opinion.

Temple University offers DPM / MBA (with Temple Univ Fox School of Business), DPM / MPH (with Temple University), and DPM / PhD (in Biomedical Engineering with either University of Pennsylvania or Drexel University). I know that Barry University also offers DPM / MBA as well.

I think most if not all schools have a dual degree of some sorts.

DMU has MPH and MHA dual degrees. 9 hours transfer from the DPM curriculum, so to get the masters it takes 36 hours (tuition ~$8000).
Check the website for more: http://www.dmu.edu/mph/directorsmessage/

I might start the DPM/MPH degree my second year,

At Scholl, we offer the DPM/MHA and the DPM/PhD degree to students that are interested in obtaining dual degrees.

For azpod students, the following degree is offered. This is the description right off of the website.

Master of Health Professions Education (M.H.P.E.)

The goal of the M.H.P.E. degree program is to augment the learning experience of the health care provider by providing expanded educational skills and training beyond that typically offered in health professions programs. In addition, this program should provide the graduate with credentials needed for increased career opportunities and advancement within their current career.

When I was at my interview, they suggested getting through the first year before you start this second program.
They also said the main purpose of getting this degree is if you want to also go into academia and teach.

Dr. Page also mentioned that a dpm/ph.d. program is probably not to far off, but nothing set up as of yet.

Enjoy!👍
