I just got a letter from DMU saying my app was on hold. 🙁 Has anyone received one of these from DMU this year? Anyone in the past received one and then gotten an interview?

If you don't mind me asking, what were your stats like? I have a low 20's and Overall GPA of 3.42, Science GPA of 3.2. If you don't want to post them, you can pm me.

Thanks

sunstar,
yeah, I was on the "on hold" category last year...for a damn long time. I eventually got an interview but was already accepted someahere else. Wish I could say what it was but I guess I will never know. It's still quite early so keep your head up..for details gimme a pm 👍

I had an email like that.. saying that I won't be interviewed.. but on HOLD... they do look at GPA and MCAT before interviewing.

My feeling is.. on hold means no thanks... especially when it was not my top 5 choices.

I got an email from them telling me they are going to be interviewing in Portland at the end of October and they would like to get my letters of recommendation in order to determine whether they could bring me in for an interview then.

I took the August MCAT and I won't be getting the results until next month... so I'm not sure if they're even considering those yet...

Ummm, oh yeah. My science gpa is 3.55 and overall 3.49.

Sunstar1877,

I got the same letter last year. I did eventually get invited to interview around February of this year. But, I had already been accepted into school. So, I didn't take them up on the offer.

hello.

for those who received a letter of "on hold" how long did it take them to send that letter after you have completed your application?

my application has been complete and no word from them yet.

My stats are 3.3 GPA, 26 on the MCAT. I was a bio major and am a non-trad student applying 5 years after graduating. Been published in Journal of microbiology, 3 summer research internships, volunteering in ER, and lots of shadowing experience. I'm not sure what I did wrong unless my GPA is too low. 🙁

well, got my an emial today saying that I am on "HOLD!!!"
what are they looking for stats wise...4.0 and at least 30 on mcat?

most of us seems to have above ave. stats for osteo schools....

Xongradulation on being put on "Hold"

Unless this is your first choice school, you should not be upset. Join the group of many "Holder". With the email I sent them in responce... I wouldn't be surprised if I am always going to be on hold. hehehe

I think they told me something like they are inviting people with last years admission averages... something like that. But again.. like I posted above I was told that would be the case... MCAT and GPA will be the determing factor.

Hmmm I am not going to loose much sleep over this. Better schools have awarded me interviews. DMU... Demoins.. COME ON!

BA OUT.. I go cry in corner now.

Sunstar1877,

I had almost the exact same stats that you have and I did eventual get out of the hold group for an interview. I just didn't take it because I had already been accepted into the school that I'm at right now. Just be patient and you will get out of the hold category too.

After about a month I got my interview and acceptance 2 weeks later!!
🙂

Congratulations on your acceptance. Hope to have you here next year!
