I am an 09er set to go to dmu in the fall and living now up in minnesota. we mn. 09ers were given an invitation to attend the mn. osteopathic medical conferences coming up at the end of the month. has anyone gone to one of these? are they worth going or will i sit there and not understand what is going on around me? what's the dress code like? any inside scoop on the joys of attending a medical conference will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I vaguely remember somebody mentioning it and say it was a fairly good time, my idea of fun is not doing anything school related in my spare time😉 My guess if you go is dress code will be slacks, dress shirt, tie and you will probably understand some of what they say. Plus you can always go for a little while and sneak out the back if it sucks...........😉

I guess between the 8 hours of surgery lab in the past two days, the 6 hrs of studying for surgery test, the 20 lectures to read before monday, ACLS last weekend ALL weekend, followed by a test....gee I somehow didn't feel like getting up at seven ON A SATURDAY!!!!!!!! I HATE SCHOOL, I HATE STUDYING, I HATE TESTS, I HATE BEING INSIDE ON A 70 DEGREE DAY I HATE EVERYONE WHO GETS TO DO WHATEVER THE F$%# THEY WANT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would like to thank the scheduler for waiting to give group p surgery, neonate, acls, OMM rounds and gyn until the very end of last semester. This really facilitates board studying.

i said this last night, and it's totally true. being a med student these days at DMU is great b/c of notepool. think how much it would suck to be in a school that requires class attendance. but those schools have a lot less class from what i hear.

but at least we can sit and do stuff on our own time.

i have eaten 3 packages of ramen noodles in the past 12 hours, and it cost me only 50 cents to do so. i love draining the water and just eating mega salty noodles. i might eat nothing but ramen the rest of the year, and supplement it w/ soy protein or something so it's actually good for me.

nearly every thing has gone up in price in the past 10 years, but ramen stayed dirt cheap the whole time.
