The one I'm tech'ing at now pretty much guaranteed me the opportunity to transition to intern once I begin pharmacy school. YMMV
No, all 11k CVS' do not each have their own interns.

I know some of those in and around Phoenix do, as well as the PBM side in the area.
Kroger and rite aid were both against hiring interns when i was in school. Only interns were the techs already working who got into pharmacy school. Even walgreens had a freeze. Cvs was the one hiring interns (they also happen to control largest market share around columbus/ohio state univ) target also was hiring before cvs took over.
Some of them have multiple interns, some have none.
It depends on the store volume and the staffing. There is an allotment per district, and even if that allotment is full there is no guarantee each one of those interns will be hired.
