Does anyone know if admission committees from separate schools corroborate and exchange applicant information? I do know from the experiences of others that admission committees are able to find whether you have been accepted to other schools.

I wonder to myself whether schools will know exactly how shamelessly I have recycled secondary application essays!!😀

What he said. 😉

With some exceptions of course. Such as accepting a student off of a waitlist that has been accepted to another school (if it is late in the season). My understanding is that if the time of the offer is close to the beginning of classes, the new accepting school notifies the other school that an offer is being made (its only fair, cause the other school will have to scramble to fill that spot if the applicant drops their acceptance). I forget where I read this though. Maybe it was on one of the schools websites that I applied to last year.

It's part of the AAMC "traffic rules." It's in the MSAR for sure and I think it's also on their website.

To make an offer to someone who's holding an acceptance after May 15th (?), the offering school is supposed to call the other school and notify them and then follow up in writing. This occurs simulatenously with the applicant being notified of the new acceptance.

Thankfully, you'd need to be a stellar applicant to be talked about enough to be remember by not just one, but two schools at random. And I doubt they'd talk about you just to compare essay, but instead talk about you as a person.

Anyway, feel free to reuse stuff. Heck, I wrote an essay 2 weeks ago (diversity prompt) with the sole idea that it would be pasted into any form that asks for it! Work efficiently, not hard! :meanie:
