DO Friendly Residency Programs

I am currently a 3rd year medical student and am trying to decide where to do my 4th year electives. Ideally, I would like to do them at places that are "DO friendly" along the East coast and in the Northeast/Tri-state in which I have a chance at placing for residency. It is always rather tricky figuring out which programs are friendly to DOs. Any input on DO friendly programs or those to avoid as a DO would be greatly appreciated.

TJU/Dupont Children's Hospital is definitely DO friendly and 2 of next year's chiefs are DO's.

Most residencies will have lists of the residents in each class indicating what kind of doctorate the residents received or the medical school they went to. Try to find that information from the residency websites and if they have people that went to DO schools, they are DO friendly.

At Children's Mercy in Kansas City the program director is a DO, so I think it's safe to assume they are DO friendly! I interviewed there and loved it. Great program AND DO friendly! : )

Our PD is a DO and we have 2-3 in each residency class a Hospital

Thank you for all responses. Pediatrics for the most part is very warm to Osteopathic physicians but there are a number of programs that I have looked into on the east coast that do not seem to have a DO currently as a resident. I am not sure if it is simply because none have applied or because these programs are less accepting of DOs. When determining which programs are reach programs for me, it is hard to understand if it is simply because they don't accept DOs or no DOs have recently matriculated into the programs because they have not made the programs cuts. I would hate to do a potential elective at a reach program that does not ultimately accept DOs.

Wake Forest has several DOs, at least one in every class. As well, all of the DOs are fantastic, so they've created a good reputation for osteopaths.
