do I even have shot with Texas schools??

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sure but there's obvious things you can do to improve your chances like retaking your DAT to accomodate for the mediocre GPA.

Incoming UTHSCSA D1 next year with 3.55 oGPA 3.45 sGPA 22AA/23TS with 2 years of science research w/ publications and some leadership and some volunteering sprinkled in (also multilingual). TX Resident. Interviewed at TAMU and SA and one acceptance to SA. ****'s tough man it's no joke. Honestly your GPA is significantly below par (you want ~3.6 overall and 3.5+ for science) and DAT is okay but nothing to offset your GPA. Bust a$$ in those remaining bio classes and retake your DAT for sure and it will at least be worth it to apply. I might even apply to OOS schools (Oklahoma, NYU, Tufts...others?) if you're trying to hit the bullseye on the first shot.

Yes. Incoming D1: ~3.4 gpa ~3.3 sgpa.
Do well in latter end of classes, do alot of voluntering etc and show massive interest. I had identical DAT. Goodluck!
