Hi I completed my major, economics, when I was a sophomore in college, and I didn't take economics classes during my junior and senior year. Even when I did take these econ classes I really was not that close to the professors. Do you think I should get a rec from someone in that department? I really don't think they would know me well enough. I have superb recs from 4 science professors and the nurse manager at the hospital I work at. Thanks for your help!

i have the same problem. there are only about 4 classes in my major (biomedical engineering, it's new, we take our classes in other departments), and none of the profs seem like they would write good letters. i was just not going to ask any of them for letters, but i guess i better do that now.

I was an econ major as an undergrad too, and now I'm in a masters' program in health communication...my pre-med advisor told me that I should have at least one rec letter from a prof in my major, so I'm planning on getting one econ and one communication.

Good luck!
