As of now, I have used AP credits for both Calc I and II.
Do dental schools want students to take Calc in college?

What should i do?
im considering taking it since my sgpa is around a 3 right now . thinking i can get an a in calc 1 but not sure about calc 2

it's a prerequisite for a 2-3 dental schools. University calc isn't too fun for me personally. Most dental schools will ask for statistics if anything math related.

does statistics count for sGPA?
in my institution, stat is categorized differently than mathematics courses.

yeah i know its a pre-req but not sure if i should take it or just use my ap credits

If you *really* think you'll do well and your schedule allows, take it and pad your GPA a little. If not, use the credits. I'm 95% sure my stats class counted toward sGPA.

Don't take calculus in undergrad. You will have more than enough calculus to deal with in dental school.

*bu-dum tsss.*

its a #s game. if you can increase your gpa do it. stats and calculus will both go to sgpa.

I think most dental schools require physics, and to take physics most undergrad schools require calculus. Correct me if I am wrong. I am in a similar situation

Not all colleges require you to take calculus for physics. My college has an algebra based and calculus based physics course. A lot of people think the algebra based physics is "remedial" but it isn't. It's just a different way to teach it. My friends says that there's more math involved with algebra based, but who cares? It was a lot easier 😉 just get it done. Once you're done taking that class, you'll never see physics again haha
