I have a super minor IA for possession of a fake ID. Do schools filter applications for IA's to select for possible interviews/will this impact when I might receive an interview? I'm just nervous because mine is so minimal compared to others who have more severe cases like academic dishonesty, etc.

I think this is going to vary greatly by school. I know I have the same thing, super inconsequential IA, but I already have 2 interviews. On the contrary, there are two schools I haven't even received secondaries from that I suspect are delayed due to an IA. So, it is all schools specific and they are so secretive that no one knows really.

In addition to what the wise gonnif has discussed, the timing of the infraction will also affect how it is received. FR year? Been without reproach since then? More positive outcomes are likely.

Last year? This makes Adcoms more cautious.

It was during the first semester of my freshman year. I definitely learned my lesson and am grateful that it occurred early in my college career to teach me those lessons, and had no infractions on my record afterward. I didn't mean to diminish the legal gravity of what I did in my original post, I was simply thinking in terms of what I have heard schools consider to be more severe IA's.

You should be fine. But own this.
