Do interviewers see LORs?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Do interviewers get to read your LORs, or just your AMCAS and secondary apps? I'm just curious.

Probably depends on the school, though I'm guessing that isn't the norm - none of mine have so far (mainly Texas schools).

It all depends. Even open vs. closed files aren't a good marker. I had one Dr. at my University of Michigan interview bring up something that was in one of my LORs (which was interesting because I hadn't even seen it). It was open file, but in a different school's "open file" interview I had a student that didn't even look at my AMCAS before I stepped in the door.

so when does an adcom look at lors?

When I had my interview...the interviewers had my file and I saw one of the papers had a letter head of my undergrad...the only thing that would have my undergrad letter head would be my LOR.

Mine all had. It's probably school dependant. I suspect as a general rule that interviewers who are adcom members generally will have seen them, student interviewers likely wont have. No idea about the rest.
