Do Letters of Recommendation expire??

Or is it just that the dental schools prefer the recent ones

I was just watching some admissions panel lectures on YouTube earlier today, and a faculty member recommended having letters no more than 1-2 years old.

Even if you're a reapplicant, you should have at least one new letter. It's ok if they're from the same writers, but they want them to be updated and include what you've been doing since the last time they evaluated you.
 
If you're a reapplicant you should have new letters for every evaluator. You can use a letter that is 2 years old but I wouldn't go past that.
