I'm doing a paper, and I would be interested in finding a statistic that showed the awareness of DO's in the allopathic community. Is anyone aware of such a survey having been done and the results? Where can I find such information?

Thanks!

every MD in the US knows what a DO is except maybe a select few IMGs that are FOB

I think most physicians are AWARE of D.O.s, but I think that many are ignorant to the education and specialty training of D.O.s

JP--

i was thinking the same thing, but i was wondering if anyone ever did a survey.

i remember someone once did one for the general public and what they knew but it would be expected that MD's would me more aware, but to what extent(as you said, education and specialty training)?

the reason I want to know is because I am writing a paper and having that statistic would make my thoughts flow more coherently.

Thanks

Don't worry too much about it. 74.8% of all statistics are completely fictitious anyway.
