Wrapping up first year now so still a ways to go, but I was wondering to people apply to more than one type of residency program??

I'm very interested in specializing in Pedo, however more and more I am hearing it's getting pretty darn difficult. I would like to do a residency program regardless of getting into Pedo or not. I've heard good things about AEGD and it's something I see myself doing so would it be possible to apply to both Pedo and AEGD programs at the same time or is that looked down upon? Not possible? Dumb? 😕😕

Pretty clueless on how applying to these programs works so any help would be appreciated, thanks!

It's not typical, but it happens a lot...i think pedo w/ a GPR fallback is the most common

When it's two different specialties, however, it gets murky bc PDs dont want people on the fence...and bold face lying is just never smart in an interview

I did dental anesthesia w a GPR back up and told all my interviewers up front about it...never got any flack, most just told me it was a smart/prudent thing to do
