Hi. So basically in the summer of '17, between my first and second years, I worked at a tutoring center, a place I had worked for a while during 2016 as well.
I had told them my desired end-date early on, and they kept me on the schedule past it. Basically, I couldn't come in during those "extra" dates that I wasn't supposed to be scheduled for (I really sorta could, but lied and said I had already left for med school again as I was busy as hell studying for some exams I had on the first day of class). Regardless, I left at a very inconvenient time for them, and there was a bit of a misunderstanding because I thought I was supposed to be done and yet I was still scheduled. They "understood" that I needed to go, but I can't help but feel that they had a little resentment towards me because of that. I DOUBT with all of my heart that they would say something positive about me to a residency program if they called. Honestly, I probably could just reminded them about when my last day was supposed to be, but forgot to.
Do residency programs call your previous employers?
Thanks.

Nope. There is nothing furnished to them during the application process that has anything other than the employer name. I cannot even see them having the time to chase down the minutiae to contact one.

Agreed. They theoretically could investigate anything you put on your application, but for something like that I doubt they’d bother or have the time. Having said that, don’t lie about it, either.
