.
A great choice-so glad you didn't say barq's, which has an aftertaste like toothpaste.
...but I'd have to say IBC (from a glass bottle) is where the root beer game is being played at the highest level.
My ranking for root beer goes like this.
Jones, Dad's, then A&W

Has no one ever had a Sprecher before? It's in a league of it's own
Nope. Never heard of it. Where do you find it?

I love how my post was the genesis for a thread derailing into soda ranking. also, i dont disagree with medpr on the fact that residency matters. my statement came from my personal opinion that in every step of our educational and professional careers we are sometimes unreasonably fixated on certain things 😀
as for favorite soda..
cane sugar dr.pepper...only found in certain areas of texas because its made by a totally different company than coca cola. in fact, the company that makes it was sued by the parent dr.pepper because it was so popular outside of its allowed market locations. when people tell me that old soda made in the 70s used to taste better i now believe them.
I heard it isnt made anymore and I miss it dearly 🙁
These rankings aren't pertinent without ice cream.
I've heard that people in TX call soda/pop "coke". So if you ask for a "coke" in a TX restaurant, the waitress might ask you "what kind of coke?"
Pretty much the whole south does, including where I am. They actually did a survey of what people call cokes/pops/sodas

What's the problem?
Besides, rankings for pop don't exist. It's either dr pepper or its not. Lol
nomenclature, you big silly 👍
Hmm... Perhaps it's not as widespread as I thought. I know you can get it in MN/WI, so anywhere in that region I suppose.
So, have you heard of a ginger ale called Vernor's? I like ginger ale, but Vernor's is good stuff. Barrel aged and all. Has a little zip to it. Hard to find, but it's originally from Michigan, just like me! 😉
I have heard of Vernor's! Like you said it has quite a bit of a zip too it. I'm not a huge ginger ale fan, so I can't really give decent feedback. I have had it though!
No, it's not really a question nomenclature. I just meant that dr pepper is by far my preferred pop.

I was just playfully calling you out for saying "soda pop" but MedPR already covered it 😛
You are the man! Dr p is indeed my favorite as well

Where does whiskey fit in? I'm not talking about that cheap stuff either.
Bourbon is whiskey...

Every bourbon is whiskey but not ALL whiskey is bourbon. True bourbon is only made in the US as well. I was strictly talking about good ole whiskey.
Oh ok didn't know u were talking good ole whiskey. We can say gentleman drink whiskey, that way we get both included. I´m not a fan of bourbon anyways.
