I haven't seen any recent posts on this, so as far as Osteopathic schools which ones have a very strong to moderate In-State and/or Regional bias?
I personally am from the Midwest (MI).

Off the top of my head I can tell you MSU is one of them. Also, OUHCOM, OSUCOM, UNECOM and any state funded school. I'm certain there are more that haven't come to mind.

I'm fairly certain I've read Pacific Northwest colleges and NYIT-Arkansas as well.

I have as well. If you want to do the hard way (the way I did it because you can't always trust what you're told), go to each school's website and look at the student geography breakdown. That's the most definitive way of getting your answer!

All schools are going to have "biases" because usually they have a mission to bring physicians to areas near the school where shortages have been recorded. However, I think as long as you express interest in practicing in areas for which the school has a mission to reach, you should be fine. I would have to agree, though, that ALL public state-funded DO schools wil have a very strong in-state bias for financial reasons along with other school-specific reasons. State-funded schools will usually have a State bias with a regional cushion, but I think private schools will mostly have Regional biases if any at all. I haven no evidence to back this up. This is just what I have gathered through my years on here. Hope this helps and makes some sense to you.

Honestly I didn't even know that existed. I've looked at a few of the schools sites and haven't seen anything like that. Generally from a schools website where do you find that?

PNW COM in Yakima Wash takes about 75% of their students from the Pacific Northwest states, especially those that don't have medical schools.

Any school in TX (except Baylor and like 1 other i forget the name of). Only like 10% (something like that) get accepted as an OOS applicant. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!
