Do students have a right to see their grades?

Most of my teachers are great and give us our grades within a week or so, but some teachers never return so much as a quiz the entire semester, you just get the final grade. Other teachers give you your test grades throughout the semester but you never see the grade from your final exam, you just get the final grade. Do students have a right to see their grades along the course of a semester?

I don't think that applies in dental school. I know at freshman orientation we had to sign a form relinquishing all basic human rights, civil liberties, and any other vestige of freedom that the school may see fit to revoke.

If the worst they are doing to you is keeping you in the dark about your grades, I'd say you are doing pretty good.

Of course you do! How are you supposed to better yourself if you don't know what your weaknesses are?

i don't know how things work at just in case, but most dental schools provide feedback and grade results. it's good to kind of know how you're doing.

umm technically you "own" your grade and the test you have taken you may not have a right to right anything down or copy it.. but you have a right to see what you answered(your own thoughts) and what your grade were..

A lot of professors make grades unavailable in dental school. That is what is so fishy. When you ask to see your grade you have to "come back later". It's all Bullsh*t.

That's what I'm experiencing. "Oh, come back to my office sometime and I'll see if I can find your grade." But they don't have posted office hours. Or you write an email and they never write back.

wow...that's really messed up...never heard of that. why not get other classmates to write dean a letter..?
