Assuming your patient doesn't need a spinal, so you still operate if your patient relieved morning dvt chemo prophylaxis? Do you request it to be held? Does it depend on the case?
Depends on case of course. Usually trauma guys don't care what they receive. Everyone else at my institution holds lovenox 24 hours before surgery. Heparin is held 8 hours before. Aspirin is held 7 days before and Coumadin is held until INR< 1.5. With spines we are much more observant of when they last got prophylaxis.
