I am a pre-pharm student from texas and will be apply to pharmacy schools in texas and in other states as well such as: U of Maryland, Temple U, U of Pittsburgh, Howard U, to name a few. Does getting accepted depend on the type school where you completed your pre-reqs? and are my schools of choice out of the ordinary? For any students currently enrolled or recently accepted at any of the colleges listed above, your input is greatly appreciated. However, pharmacy students in general are welcome to offer their suggestions. thanks! 😀

You can apply to those schools as schools are not always bound to take the majority of their undergrads as pharmacy students. Do note that some in-state schools (like Maryland) will slant their pool to in-state residents. You can still apply to many in-state schools, but the competition level is a little higher compared to private schools.

Going to a better school will be factored in when they review your application. GPAs are for the most part contextual and as a just a number mean little.
