Do we have an official word on whether PCOM honors grade replacement?

So, by now I'm sure everyone is familiar with PCOM's statement regarding the ending of the AACOMAS grade replacement policy:

"The Faculty Committee on Admissions follows a holistic approach in reviewing applications for the DO program. Our committee members look not only at grades and test scores when evaluating applications, but also read the entire application as submitted by the applicant, along with the letters of recommendation and personal statements. There are no cutoffs or minimums. We send supplemental applications to all of our AACOMAS applicants. Our admissions process will continue to be what it has been and will be unaffected by the change in the AACOMAS policy."

So do we know definitively if PCOM actually does perform their own in-house recalculation of the GPA, using only your most recent attempt at a course?

Or does this just mean they will notice the upward trend that you obviously established if you were retaking courses and doing better in them, even if they don't necessarily recalculate the GPA?

Do we know definitively what the case is?

The most likely answer is noticing an upward trend. Without a doubt, the unethical sudden change will hurt those who would have previously had higher GPAs.
