Do you believe in evolution through natural selection?

I would disagree with that statement. 2/3 of people in this poll believe in natural selection. 25% believe that a supreme being helped guide it, which is not the same thing.

I guess I should be happy that only 10% are creationists, less militant that those who believe in option 2.

Natural selection and God are not mutually exclusive by any means. I don't necessarily believe the "God" most people in this poll "know" guided natural selection, but the fact of the matter is an all-powerful God could have very easily just set the universe into motion, and would therefore be responsible for natural selection in the same was a computer programmer is responsible for the execution of his code.

All of modern biology, physiology, comparative embryology and all of the fields in the life sciences would not make sense without evolution.

Evolution provides a testable, proven and even witnessed mechanism for microevolutionary and macroevolutionary change.

You are truly naive if u believe otherwise and I suggest you take an evolution course to wake up. There are countless empirical papers done supporting evolution while intelligent design has, surprise, nada.

Remember nothing in biology would make any sense, except in the light of evolution.

While I completely agree that it didn't need to be bumped, I also thing that this is an important and relevant debate. Evolutionary theory is a central concept in modern biology, and at very least I feel that every potential physician should understand the underlying concepts.

When this thread was first opened, most evolution denialists displayed a tremendous lack of understanding. I think open conversation, even if everyone doesn't agree with what is said, is essential to fixing this problem.

Haha I think it's funny that there is actually an argument going on. You see, I have yet to say a single thing about God or the theory of Evolution (in acceptance or defiance of).

I think it's utterly hilarious that everyone is assuming what I believe, and then trying to refute it!
