do you have to get LOR from audition rotations?

If you're applying to a program, and will be rotating there, whats the rule about LOR?
Have all LOR done with before getting there?
Or get letter from the attending you work with at that specific location and submit it ASAP? What if its a late rotation Nov/Dec?

Thanks for any info 🙂

If you need one, get one. In my mind, if you rotate somewhere for an audition and do poorly, an amazing LOR from one of the staff isn't going to save you. If you do well, the LOR is irrelevant. So get one if you need one, but if you don't, don't.

A few places I rotated ranked us based off a point system. Having a letter of rec from them boosted our application. If it is somewhere you really are interested in attending a letter of rec from a well respected Doctor there could go a long way. Just something to keep in mind.

It is always better to have a LOR and not use it, rather that need an LOR and not have it.

Just ask for it.

Although it's June now, so if you dont have any LOR's you are way behind the ball.
