if you are coming from canada, you would be considered an international student so what kind of paperwork do you need to be able to study in the states? (student visa, green card, other?)

Thank-you for your responses!

i think only student visa will be required

Thanks for your response. What requirements are there for students ie. in canada, trying to get one?

I was just talking about it with someone trying to get into med school in canada but there GPA's here are waaaay too high to get in, and they were really wondering about that, and I told them I'd find out (I'm kinda in the same boat as them 🙂

There are no requirements other than a bank statement to show the school you have the $$$ to pay for 4 years of education. The school will send you an I-90 when you accept their offer. You have to go to the border or an embassy to sort things out but other than that, you just wait for the school to prepare documents for you.

Thanks for the info. Basically here in canada as soon as we get accepted in dental/med school, we get a student-line-of-credit (from what others have told me) from a bank and that's what they use to pay for the education. I'm not quite sure of the specifications but one person I talked to got 150K (he went to Ireland from the states) and from what I hear it's not very hard getting one since the failure rate of dental/med students is very low, so they know it's a good investment cuz they'll make money off of you.
