Having a parent that is a physician is definitely more of a plus than a negative. I knew what MCAT stood for when I was 10 years old. It also provides insight that no other connection can provide. Plus, i dont have to worry about tuition and job placement since my dad is the director of the nicu.
 
Definitely a plus. My dad basically told me "get into med school, and I'll get you whatever residency you want." Plus I wont have any debt after residency, since my parents are paying for it in full.


Make sure that you mention this during your med school interviews, especially the part about Daddy getting you any residency that you want. Ad Comms will be impressed.

Oh, and leave your silver spoon at home when you interview. You speak better if that thing is not in your mouth.
