Pretty straightforward question... if you get accepted in the same application cycle year to one or more schools, are other schools more likely to accept you to try to steal you away, or because you're obviously good enough for that school, or however you want to phrase it? Or is this just a myth?

 This is funny.
"I see "X" has just been accepted to USC. I know we didn't want him before but now WE NEED HIM!!!"

But in all seriousness, I don't think they even know you have been accepted unless you tell them.

One school gave me 25,000 dollars and offered to buy my mom a house. The dean came to my house and pleaded with my family to change my mind about going to a rival Big Ten school. I was told that they didn't care if I was a one-and-done. I'd skip pharmacy school and go straight to the clinic if it wasn't for the current rules.

NO...I have never even heard this as a myth hahaha and when you get accepted to a pharmacy school that doesn't mean you are good enough as you see people drop out all the time! Getting in doesn't guarantee you to get out of the program!

I don't know if it's common in pharmacy school but, in general, the only time I've seen this happen is if you have something amazing to offer the school. They only steal you if you're worth it, ie: they see your work in the school eventually bringing them more recognition or money. I know we all worked hard in our classes to be competitive, but those kind of people are extremely rare.

In fact, I wouldn't even mention it in my interview if I got into a school already. It might end up backfiring and leaves the impression that you are not serious about their school (having applied to another school). I view it in the way I view job interviews. You wouldn't go into a job interview and mention that you're interested in another company/have been offered a job at another company, would you? No, you only mention it as leverage during salary negotiations when they actually offer you the job. At least that's what I would do.
