Does applying to a masters program hurt?

One of my supplementals asked about my plans for the 2007-2008 year. One plan is to a MPH program for the Fall of 2008, just in case I don't get into medical school this year. Would mentioning hurt whatever chance I have to get in this year?

Yes - if you don't get in, you will experience some emotional pain.

I think it's good to show you have a backup, obviously following up that you will re-apply. I think it's a trap to catch people saying, "Screw this stupid process, I'm going to B school!" (geniuses!)
